On a construction site in Vienna, Austria, a worker made an incredible discovery: a chest full of gold coins. The treasure weighing several dozen kilos is estimated at more than 2 million euros.
On November 12, several workers were carrying out renovation work on a house located in the Austrian capital, Vienna. If one of them preferred to ignore a rope that was in the ground, another was interested in it and made an incredible discovery, reports the Austrian media Today.
“It’s truly incredible”
The man took a shovel and dug after pulling on the rope unsuccessfully. That’s when he discovers the unthinkable. A metal chest appears. Inside old gold coins, weighing nearly thirty kilos, to his greatest happiness.
“It’s really incredible. I’ve been working on construction sites since I was 15. From time to time, we find coins. But a discovery like this is fabulous”rejoices a worker present on the construction site of the house.
The value of this buried treasure amounts to more than 2.3 million euros. But then who will benefit from the loot? The Austrian Civil Code is clear: it indicates that the person who made the discovery must share the entire treasure with the owner of the premises.
While the first worker preferred to ignore the rope, the other construction professional saw his life turned upside down and should therefore pocket more than a million euros.
