The nominees for the 2024 African Ballon d’Or title are now known with a list reduced to 5 players.
4 players playing on the European continent and one player on the African continent make up the quinté of nominees to claim the best players.
The Ivorian Simon Adingra, the Nigerian Ademola Lookman, the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, the Guinean Serhou Guirassy and the South African Ronwen Williams are the names of the 5 nominated players.
Among them all, only one player will finally be crowned on December 16 during the official trophy ceremony of the 2024 CAF Awards.
The winner will therefore succeed the Nigerian Victor Osimhen who won the trophy for best African player in 2023.
For this year, even if there are 5 nominees, observers see 3 players standing out from the crowd altogether.
Many people see the trophies really being fought over between Ademola Lookman, Achraf Hakimi and Serhou Guirassy.
The first had a very good season last year with his club Atalanta Bergamo and even won the Europe League.
The second has been one of Luis Enrique’s most important players in the PSG team.
As for Serhou Guirassy, he was brilliant with VFB Stuttgart last season, scoring no less than 32 goals in 37 matches played.
