A successful singer, Chantal Goya is far from rolling in gold. Worse still, his very low pension does not allow him to live with dignity.
Whether you are young or old, the name Chantal Goya escapes no one. It’s very simple, the one to whom we owe many children’s songs such as Pandi Panda, The Alphabet Singing, Mon Pinocchio or Jeannot the bunny to name just a few, has been present in the audiovisual landscape for several decades. And while we imagine the 82-year-old singer rich with such successes during her career, it is ultimately not the case.
A 3-digit monthly pension for Chantal Goya
In addition to not rolling in gold, Chantal Goya receives a very small pension. In any case, that’s what she said on the set of Jordan De Luxe. So, once the taxes are paid, the singer only gets “600 and a few euros” retirement per month. The latter nevertheless ensures that “that’s not bad”. Shocked by discovering this low figure, close to that of Giuseppe’s mother, Jordan De Luxe does not believe it and tells him that it is not possible to live on only 600 euros per month. “At the time, we didn’t have payroll. We didn’t have things like that. We were associated with production”, explains the singer. Then to admit: “I knew I would work until I was 110. Until the end. It’s like that. I will always work”.
The singer says she has “everything you need”
Obviously, the amount of her pension does not seem to worry Chantal Goya. The latter also confided to Jordan De Luxe that she had lots of projects in mind. “It’s not a question of choice, This is a question I like to work on. Rest ? I’ll rest when I get up there. But on the other hand I have everything I need, I have my energy”, she assured at first. A reconversion is not spared according to the singer. “If there are no more shows tomorrow, well I’ll open a little shop with flowers, carrots, turnips, all that… In my head, I have lots of projects”she concludes before affirming that she has never been broke.
Is Chantal Goya on the street?
In the past, however, Chantal Goya was the subject of a rumor that she was on the street with her husband Jean-Jacques Debout. “It makes no sense. Some newspapers wrote that I was under bridges. My money problems are nonsense. This is an insult to those who are truly in distress!”lamented the singer in an interview with Télé-Loisirs.
In reality, if Chantal Goya made a lot of money with her musical successes, she did not see the color for long. “Money is not my driving force […] Sometimes when I have money, I feel like I’m playing Monopoly.”, she confided to the LA Série podcast. And to specify: “I always distribute money to everyone. This is for so-and-so, this is for so-and-so. It’s like Monopoly! There’s never any in my pocket. As soon as it comes in, it leaves just as quickly”. A generosity that she is undoubtedly paying back today.
