US sanctions Israeli settlement organization

The U.S. Treasury, through its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), today announced sanctions against Amana, a major community development organization in Judea and Samaria, and its subsidiary Binyanei Bar Amana Ltd. This decision, taken under Presidential Decree 14115, targets an organization accused of being involved with individuals and outposts already sanctioned for acts of violence in Judea and Samaria.

“The United States, along with its allies, remains committed to pursuing those who facilitate these destabilizing activities that threaten the stability of the West Bank, Israel and the entire region,” said Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo.

These sanctions, also applied by the United Kingdom and Canada, involve freezing all of the organization’s assets in the United States and prohibiting American citizens from carrying out transactions with it. The State Department also sanctioned three individuals and one additional entity.
