He was drawn from thousands of fans to spend the weekend at the home of Victor Balzan, the bestselling detective novel author, at his magnificent estate near Aix-en-Provence. What was not on the program of the festivities was the death of Hugo, the writer's young collaborator, accidentally electrocuted in the swimming pool. Once again, our amateur sleuth is convinced that it is a murder and that the murderer is one of the residents of the estate. But who then? The editor of Balzan, a formidable businesswoman?
