- Three bodies were discovered in a house in Ixelles.
- José P., employee of a real estate company in Switzerland, is the main suspect. He was arrested on Sunday.
- He would have invoked collective suicide due to personal problems.
Saturday during the day in Ixelles (Belgium), a police patrol discovered three bodies in the family home of José P., a 54-year-old real estate agent. According to information from the media “L’Avenir”the victims are the man’s wife and 1-year-old daughter, as well as the 13-year-old stepson. The first were allegedly shot and the boy died from possible poisoning. The intervention was triggered following concerns from the man’s daughter-in-law.
It appears that the latter is an employee of a real estate company based in Switzerland. He was placed under arrest on Sunday evening, being the main suspect in the case. José P. gave his first explanations to the police. According to information obtained by “L’Avenir”, the man explained that it must have been a collective suicide. He would have made this decision in agreement with his partner because of a large number of personal problems.
Still according to information from the Belgian media, José P. declared that he had to end his life by hanging after having ingested medication. He was said to have lost consciousness until police arrived at the main suspect’s home.
Links with Switzerland
The man was recently fired by his brother, boss of the company based in Switzerland. In addition, José P. would have recently received an eviction notice from his home, which probably had a link with this real estate company. The main suspect in the case also reportedly said he had been harassed and threatened by his brother.
For the moment, José P.’s lawyer did not wish to confirm the information to the Belgian media “in the interest of the ongoing legal investigation”.
