Still injured, Danish defender Andreas Christensen sees his club, FC Barcelona, make an important decision concerning him.
Andreas Christensen, transferred from Chelsea to FC Barcelona during the summer of 2022, made his first steps with the Catalan team during the first season. During the second, he suffered injuries which slowed him down a little. This third season started off on a good note, but Christensen encountered another injury. The duration of his unavailability is not yet known, but a return next January seems possible. However, as Barça progresses towards recovery, they are asking themselves an essential question: should they keep or sell the player?
A decisive transfer window for Christensen
The winter transfer window could be decisive for the Danish defender. On the one hand, Barça might want to capitalize on Christensen's market value, particularly if his physical condition improves and he regains his playing level. On the other hand, the uncertainty linked to his playing time and possible opportunities for other reinforcements in the defensive sector could encourage the leaders to part ways with him. However, in the event of a departure, winter would not be expected, since Hansi Flick is counting on him to strengthen his defensive line, which is currently made up of the unsurpassable Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi, in the meantime the imminent return of Ronald Araujo.
