It's a small miracle. Saturday around 3:45 p.m., an apartment on Allée des Lilas in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis) in the Pont-Blanc district, Cité Haute, was blown up by a gas explosion. Fortunately the family, who were there, two adults and three children, were saved. They were taken to hospital for check-ups, where they could be reassured. However, one person was reportedly injured in the face. But no vital prognosis is involved.
When firefighters arrived in this apartment located on the 11th floor, they noted “significant material damage”. Samples were taken by the central laboratory of the police headquarters in order to determine the exact origin of the disaster. The hypothesis of a faulty gas stove was raised. But this remains to be confirmed.
Although the blast severely damaged this T4 type accommodation, “the neighboring apartments did not suffer any damage. It was not necessary to rehouse other people,” indicates the management of Logirep, the lessor. “The start of the fire was contained, there was no spread,” adds a police source.
Only the affected family was rehoused by the town hall for the weekend.
For his part, the social landlord indicated that he was actively looking for other accommodation to shelter this family “during the week”, because their T4 is currently uninhabitable.
