The alert was given around 11:45 p.m. for a fire in progress in a nine-story building in Port-Saint-Louis du Rhône, rue Benoît Frachon.
Around fifty firefighters intervened supported by 28 engines. In total, “46 people were treated and an 82-year-old woman was slightly injured” indicate the Bouches-du-Rhône firefighters.
The fire started from the 3rd floor of a building which has nine floors. “The start of the fire appears to be accidental. indicate the firefighters, specifying that “This is the preferred hypothesis following the events, in view of the first elements collected.
An investigation was opened to determine the causes of the fire. A disaster which mobilized a large number of firefighters to take care of the 46 people to be evacuated. Of these 46 people, an 82-year-old woman was slightly injured and seven people had to be rehoused.
