Following Mexico’s defeat on the field of Honduras ( 0-2) in the quarter-finals of the Concacaf Nations League (Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean), Friday November 15 in San Pedro, the coach of La Verde was violently attacked by local fans.
From the final whistle, the Mexican coach was the target of projectiles thrown from the stands. The 65-year-old technician, hit by a bottle in the head, left the pitch with a bloody face. Extremely serious facts which should result in a heavy sanction for Honduras, host country of the meeting, and 79th nation in the Fifa ranking.
