The 24 clearance sales organized throughout helped to prolong the Olympic euphoria. But there you go. They too are finished. The last took place in (Haute-Garonne) on October 27.

“They were a huge success » rejoices Caroline Louis, responsible for the circular economy of 2024. On average, 2,000 people came to each edition to buy one of the 20,000 items put on sale for each clearance sale.

The average basket amounted to €80 at the Paris clearance sale. “The objective was not at all financial. Neither a commercial operation but a reuse one “, she insists. If the organization of these clearance sales generated organizational and logistical costs… Caroline Louis recognizes that there were “profitability” but in total the contribution of all these sales will be « marginal » to the overall budget of the Games.

The Paris 2024 organization is returning its last 4,000 m2 warehouse located in Seine-et- at the end of the month. It was still used to store the last pieces and objects used in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

But there is very little left in the end.” adds Caroline Louis.

The venue for the badminton events will be on the Pays de la Loire league grounds. “to develop the Paralympic practice. L The federations are delighted, this allows them to still ride the Olympics effect”, adds Romain Candelier.

The Olympic Village also permanently closed its doors on 1is november. Paris 2024 returned thousands of keys to promoters “and found them all”jokes Caroline Louis. The 75,000 objects and furniture which notably fitted out the athletes' rooms were donated to Emmaüs and other solidarity structures. “Even construction site safety equipment such as helmets and shoes were donated to a player in the integration sector in the building,” confides Caroline Louis.
