The objective of this select committee is to consider the continuation of operations on the “beach plans” sites of the La Teste national forest which welcome up to 900,000 visitors each year. These beach plans are in fact subject to significant natural hazards (marine erosion with a maximum coastline retreat of 48 m in one winter, fires in 2022, bark beetles, reconstitution, etc.).
The animation was entrusted to the group of design offices which have been supporting this project for two years: Romain Quesada, landscape urban planner; Alain Freyter, landscape designer; and Audrey Aldebert – AVA, architects and urban planners.
The mayor of La Teste-de-Buch, Patrick Davet, was present and accompanied by elected officials for the environment and sports, and his technical services. He was able to express, with a desire for co-construction, his expectations, his questions and even his vision for the Testin territory. GIP Littoral also accompanied the delegation.
These reflections, launched in 2019, stopped by the fires of July 2022 and refined since, are continuing after a first phase of post-fire rehabilitation work (for €1.4 million). This work made it possible to restore the function of the sites by ensuring the safe reception of summer visitors, while initiating the retreat, mobility or even the erasure of certain devices.
