The traditional National Day parade: a powerful demonstration of our pride in being Quebecois

Isn’t it the most beautiful demonstration of our love for our homeland to parade through our metropolis to the sound of music, surrounded by all these artists, these participants, these families, all united to celebrate Quebec?

Just like what we are, a dynamic, plural, creative and proud society. Montreal and all of Quebec are in great need of love. The best way to express it is to participate in the National Day celebrations and be part of the parade.

I invite you to come walk and follow the traditional parade on June 24 at 1:30 p.m., rue Rachel Est, between rue Molson and rue d’Orléans. Together, let’s make this day a memorable moment, a vibrant testimony of our love for our homeland. Take out your finest regalia and hoist your Quebec flags high!

History, value, identity

Let’s take advantage of this 190e anniversary of our National Day to demonstrate our love and pride towards our homeland, our culture, and our French language. This day embodies our history, our values, our identity and what distinguishes us as a nation. It reflects our unity, our solidarity and what we are in the most beautiful way.

Celebrating our language and our culture also means celebrating our artists who shine the soul of the nation and contribute to enriching and preserving our culture. We must shed more light on them. The traditional June 24 parade in Montreal is the perfect opportunity to do this.

This great tradition is a key moment to come together, to share our pride with new Quebecers and to involve the youngest. Imagine yourself in the middle of the crowd, walking near your loved ones following the parade, feeling this wave of collective emotion! A flame that makes us vibrate to the sound of music, the feeling of belonging to something bigger than us.

“Let’s meet up under the stars”

Let us also remember the legacy of Ludger Duvernay, founder of the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal. It is thanks to his vision and dedication that we can today celebrate our National Day with such pride and gratitude. Furthermore, last year, the Minister of Culture of Quebec designated Ludger Duvernay as a historical heritage figure.

This year, our celebrations on June 23 and 24 will take place under the theme “Let’s meet under the stars”, in tribute to those who helped shape Quebec and who remain examples for future generations today.

On June 24, after your participation in the parade, we obviously invite you to the National Day Grand Show at Parc Maisonneuve. It’s the celebration of all Quebecers and it’s our turn to let ourselves talk about love.
