Top scorer absent
For having received 3 yellow cards, Andy Carrol will serve a one-match suspension. The sanction takes effect from 11/18. Thus, the top scorer from Bordeaux will be suspended for the trip to the leader next Saturday in Saint-Malo – for the 11th day of National 2.
The England striker was booked with a yellow card on September 17 during the Ligue 2 match between Annecy and Amiens. In addition, with the Girondins, he was warned of a yellow card against Avranches on October 19, and against Saint-Pryvé on November 9 in National 2.
The appendix to the FFF disciplinary regulations gives the following elements: “The licensee having received 3 warnings during 3 different matches in a period less than or equal to 3 months (the calculation of the limitation period being carried out by taking into account the dates of the matches) is sanctioned with a suspension of one match after decision of the disciplinary body of first instance. This principle applies within the same practice, whatever the level of competition (paragraph 1.3 of the appendix to the FFF disciplinary regulations).”
The English player is therefore available to play in the Coupe de France this Sunday against Bressuire.
The Jean Grillot file not yet processed
To this absence, could be added the suspension of Jean Grillot who, for having received 3 yellow cards in less than 3 months, will also serve a suspension match.
However, his third card was received this Wednesday against Le Poiré in a late match, the disciplinary committee has not yet examined his file. He is therefore not suspended for the moment to play against Saint-Malo.
For this summit meeting, Bordeaux will be deprived of at least its top scorer, Andy Carroll. Coach Bruno Irlès will have to make up for this absence.
