FOOTBALL – The atmosphere was as bland in the empty stands as on the pitch. The France-Israel Nations League match took place this Thursday, November 14 at the Stade de France in a very tense geopolitical context, and no team was able to win the score.
However, the French largely dominated. The first half was marked by a festival of missed opportunities for the Blues, from the 3rd minute by Randal Kolo Muani. In the 21st minute, N'Golo Kante, captain during this match in the absence of Kylian Mbappé, almost opened the scoring but Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz managed to push the ball away.
Didier Deschamps' players may have had a good lead in terms of possession (more than 60% in the first 45 minutes), but they lacked inspiration and even scared themselves in the 36th minute during an Israeli free kick. The coach also showed his dissatisfaction. Just before the break, it was Bradley Barcola's turn to miss the rebound of the ball, while he had the empty goals right in front of him.

The Israelis, for their part, had to wait until the start of the second half and the 47th minute of the match to score their first shot. Proof of French superiority: according to statistics from the Teamthe Blues had shot 14 times in the 60th minute including three on target, compared to only two shots including one on target for the Israelis.
Despite this advantage, the Blues continued to block. After another opportunity in the 62nd, France was once again on the verge of scoring its first in the 75th. That's without counting on the Israeli goalkeeper, who produced a magnificent save as you can see below.

The seven minutes of added time will not have changed anything. A final, not precise enough shot from Christopher Nkunku was stopped once again by Daniel Peretz, who was imperious throughout the match. This draw (0-0) after the Blues beat Israel 4-1 in October still allows France to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.
