Former Belgian international, Eden Hazard, spoke about the Ballon d’Or.
While the world of football is still digesting Rodri’s controversial coronation, the former Real Madrid striker believes that he could have claimed this trophy if he had benefited from the same opportunities as Neymar Jr.
“If I had had the same chances as Neymar, I could have at least won a Ballon d’Or.
Playing alongside and being encouraged by the best player in the world is a unique opportunity. It’s something you can’t recreate.”he said.
The former Chelsea player added: “Messi has achieved everything in football.
For him, making you the best player for a season or two is easy.
He wanted to help Neymar become the player he was capable of being. But it’s up to Neymar to make his decisions.
If I had been in his place, I would have followed Messi’s advice, because he was keen to see me succeed.
It should be remembered that Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr shared the same locker room at FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Neymar’s performances have seen some dips since his departure from Barcelona, where he could have won the Ballon d’Or several times.
