American Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Brussels yesterday to urge the Europeans to help Ukraine more, while the return of Donald Trump on January 20 should mark a disengagement of the United States.
While awaiting the arrival of Donald Trump at the White House with his mysterious peace plan for Ukraine which should consist of a disengagement from the United States, the Biden administration is throwing its last efforts into convincing the Europeans to do more in helping Volodymyr Zelensky. This is the message that Secretary of State Antony Blinken addressed to Europeans in Brussels yesterday, while the Ukrainian capital, kyiv, was targeted at dawn by a combined Russian attack of missiles and drones, for the first time in over two months.
North Korean engagement in the Ukrainian conflict with the first soldiers on the front “requires a firm response,” declared Antony Blinken, on the sidelines of a visit to NATO. “The North Korean forces engaged in battle, and now, literally in combat: this new element demands a firm response and it will be,” Mr. Blinken told the press, alongside the NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The secretary of state said he discussed with Mark Rutte Western support for Ukraine and the work to be done to develop NATO's defense industry.
The Biden administration will “continue to consolidate everything we do for Ukraine. President Biden intends to fully follow through and take advantage of every day to continue doing what we have done for the last four years, which is to strengthen this alliance,” he added. “Russia did not win” in Ukraine, Mr. Blinken said.
“We need to do more”
“It is clear that we need to do more to ensure that Ukraine can continue the fight and is able to push back Russian aggression as much as possible and prevent Putin from achieving success in Ukraine,” continued Antony Blinken.
