“We are not ready to give up”: third day of strike at the Francheville private hospital in Dordogne

The strike continues for its third day at the Francheville clinic. Three days without pay for certain nurses, stretcher bearers, or caregivers. They were still around a hundred this Thursday afternoon gathered in front of the doors of the private clinicto demonstrate. The La Lande rehabilitation center in Annesse-et-Beaulieu came to join them. They belong to the same private health group, GBNA, which bought them in 2023.

They are demanding better salaries because in the private hospital they are paid less than in the public. “There has been fed up for a while, this movement which lasts is a reflection of the anger of the caregivers”assures Margot, a 26-year-old nurse who about to lose a second night of work without pay. “There is really a question of consideration. Given what we are offered, we have the impression of not being considered.”

“We came to requisition them from their homes at 9 p.m.”

Francheville hospital has still unscheduled 2/3 of operations todayoutside of oncology and dialysis. They also began to requisition caregivers this Thursday, November 14, to maintain these medical procedures of vital importance for patients. The movement is expected to continue on Friday because there are no more trading sessions scheduled for the day.

On the side of the La Lande rehabilitation center, caregivers have been requisitioned since the start of the movement : “But you see, we managed to make a convoy of 50 people to Francheville, because the requisitions made a lot of people angry”says Stéphane Adeline, CGT delegate for the site. “We came to pick them up from their homes sometimes at 9 p.m. to requisition them. As a result, they are more determined than ever, they are no longer ready to give up the movement for the sake of petty things.”
