LVMH confirmed, Thursday, November 14, the appointment of Maud Alvarez-Pereyre as director of human resources of the group as of November 1is December. She will also be promoted to member of the Executive Committee. Her arrival at this position comes after the departure, confirmed the day before, of Chantal Gaemperle.

“After having managed the human resources and synergies of the LVMH group for more than 17 years, and created a talent development and CSR policy supporting growth, Chantal Gaemperle is leaving the group to devote herself to new projects”indicated the world leader in luxury. According to The LetterChantal Gaemperle was laid off with a view to her dismissal for serious misconduct.

A long career in the group, in human resources

Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, 43, already knows the world of human resources in the group, since she has been in charge of transformation and HR (chief people and transformation officer) since April 2023.

A graduate of Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Sciences Po and the University of Westminster, Maud Alvarez-Pereyre began her career as a recruitment manager for the consultancy firm Beijaflore. She then left for London (United Kingdom) in 2004 to take charge of HR and development at LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics, then held several positions as director of human resources at Moët Hennessy between 2007 and 2017. From 2017 to 2020 , she heads HR for the British shirt brand Pink Shirtmaker, then part of the group. She returned to LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics in April 2020 as senior vice-president of human resources.

Jean-Jacques Guinony takes charge of the wines and spirits branch

Other appointments were also announced by the group, including that of Jean-Jacques Guiony, as chairman and CEO of the wines and spirits branch (Moët Hennessy). He was then financial director of LVMH. Alexandre Arnault is appointed Deputy CEO of the branch. Charles Delapalme will be appointed CEO of Hennessy, without date communicated for the moment, at the end of a transition period with Laurent Boillot, whose new functions must be communicated later.

This reshuffle in the management of wine and spirits activities intervenes in a turbulent contextwith a decline in organic sales of 8% over the first nine months of 2024. Champagne declined “in a context of continued normalization of post-Covid demand but remains in significant growth compared to 2019”, indicated LVMH in mid-October, while weak demand in China is penalizing sales of Hennessy cognacs.

Cécile Cabanis, new financial director

To replace Jean-Jacques Guiony, LVMH has also appointed Cécile Cabanis as financial director, from February 1, 2025. This agricultural engineer who graduated from -Grignon joined the group in June 2024 as deputy financial director, after starting his career at L'Oréal then a stint, between 2000 and 2004, at as deputy director of mergers and acquisitions. Between 2004 and 2022, Cécile Cabanis held several financial management positions within the Danone group, before being deputy general director of Tikehau Capital between 2021 and 2024. She is also a member of the board of the Competition Authority.
