The Togo Hawks beaten by Liberia say goodbye to participation in the next final phase of CAN 2025 which will be held in Morocco.
A 0-1 defeat on a penalty converted by Mo Sangaré in the 83rd minute of play completely ruined Togo’s campaign and put an end to the hopes maintained by the public until then.
At the end of the game, national coach Nibombé Daré spoke at length about the summary of this match which caused so much harm to the Togo Sparrowhawks.
» We came here to achieve a result but the opposite happened. We had opportunities that we were unable to capitalize on. It was a match that was controlled from start to finish but there was a penalty which penalized us. We must continue to work and learn from our mistakes. If we look at it in terms of numbers, I think that most of the stats will be in our favor but we lacked realism in the Liberia rectangle. So we have to work more on our finishing and that’s the only way we can win the matches to come. »
It is in these terms that the coach of Togo expressed himself and therefore projected himself on the upcoming deadlines.
Togo plays its last match this Sunday, November 17 at the Kegue stadium against Equatorial Guinea, 2nd qualified nation in Group E.
