Around twenty employees of Cités Caritas demonstrated in to demand the Ségur Lafourcade bonus, denouncing unequal treatment between the poles of the association.

Wednesday morning, in Toulouse, near the Grand Rond, around twenty employees of Cités Caritas La Madeleine mobilized, in front of the administrative management of the association, to demand the allocation of the Ségur Lafourcade bonus. Although the State has validated this bonus to support social workers, certain centers of the association still do not benefit from it.

Workers in contact with great precariousness

All employees of Cités Caritas La Madeleine receive this bonus of 180 euros net monthly for full time, except those in the early childhood, maintenance and part of the administrative department. Alice, an educator of young children, emphasizes that those excluded from the bonus also work with very precarious groups: “We deserve it, we support children and parents to strengthen family ties, particularly among migrants with sordid backgrounds, or among women who have gone through prostitution.”

Management wants to be reassuring

Laëtitia, another employee, denounces frozen salaries: “We earn 1,300 euros net at the end of our career. This bonus is just for living decently, not for going on vacation.” There is also concern about the retroactivity of the bonus. “We fear that postponing the allocation will deprive us of retroactivity from next January,” explains Leïna, childcare assistant.

The management of Cités Caritas La Madeleine indicated to the delegation of dissatisfied people that the retroactivity of the bonus is not called into question. Suspicious, the employees asked for written guarantees.
