The 31th Super League day continues at the various sports facilities both in Niamey and within the country. On Saturday June 15, 2024, this day offered an interesting duel on the lawn of the General Seyni Kountché stadium in Niamey between Liberté FC 14th of the ranking and AS National Guard 1er of the championship. A meeting which ended in victory for the AS National Guard.

AS Garde Nationale dominated the game in all areas, winning the game with a score of 2 goals to zero (2-0). This defeat against the reigning champion is a hard blow for Liberté FC, ranked at the bottom of the table and who were looking to maintain their position.

Already in the first period of play, AS Garde Nationale led Liberté FC with a score of 1 goal to 0. After the break, the Liberté FC coach made two changes. It is a wide midfielder, Ibrahim Omar, who replaced Mahamadou Hamani and a striker who replaced Bachir Oumarou. But, these two changes did not bring a solution for his team, because the striker of the National Guard, Victorien Zakari Adebayor scored his 2th goal at 86th minute of play.

At the end of the confrontation, the coach of AS Garde Nationale, Cheikh Omar Diabaté, stressed that this victory is a blessing for his team. “This afternoon, we pulled out all the stops to get to the end. It was towards the end of the first period that we scored our first goal. It gave us a boost in our hearts so that we could continue in the same vein. Liberté FC is a team from Niamey; it’s always complicated to mishandle her,” he explained.
