“Koh Lanta : the cursed tribe”

Everything is speeding up in the Philippines. After Gustin's elimination last week, “Koh-Lanta: The Cursed Tribe” entered its home stretch during episode 13, broadcast Tuesday evening on TF1 and available now for streaming on TF1+. Following the departure of one of the most prominent faces of the season, there are now only seven who can qualify for the orientation test. Here's what you need to remember from the evening…

Gustin true to himself

Ousted from the adventure at the end of episode 12, Gustin found his comrades eliminated before him at the residence of the final jury. Among them, Sarah who has still not come to terms with having been taken out of the game by the Swiss lifeguard. Not to mention his very harsh words against him during the council. “He did it backwards to everyone!“, reminds the young woman to the cameras. “I say I deserve it! Everyone has opened their eyes to what he is and what he has done“.

The fact remains that on Tuesday evening, Gustin remained true to his reputation, admitting to having betrayed his former red teammates to get closer to the yellows after reunification. “On the red island, I have no memories because I suffered so much“, he blurted out to the adventurers with the mixture of naivety and provocation that we know him to be.

Ugo, this hero

Last Tuesday, Cassandra was saved to the detriment of Gustin thanks to the immunity necklace that Ugo gave her during the council. “I didn't expect it, it touches me so much. It's amazing that a person like him exists“, admits the novelist. “He's my hero!“.

While he had two immunity collars, the double winner of “Koh-Lanta” put himself in danger for the rest of the adventure, two episodes from the orientation. But his heart spoke. “Cassandre is a very beautiful adventurer. It would have been horrible to see her leave!“, he explains.

Very competitive comfort

To have the privilege of spending a day in a Filipino farming village, the meal and the night's sleep that goes with it, the last eight adventurers were grouped into two teams of four by drawing lots. Designated captains, Charlotte and Cécile recruited Ilyesse Jacques and Sofia for the first, Ugo, Thibault and Cassandre for the second.

Firstly, the two teams had to recover two heavy trunks at sea. Inside, seven small bags to be balanced on high supports. After several unsuccessful attempts, Cécile's team takes the lead under the leadership of Ugo. With almost six sacks out of seven, we say to ourselves that victory is achieved.

But in the final stretch, the Charlotte team caught up and won thanks to the skill of Ilyesse. A decisive victory for the rest of the adventure? In the village, Jacques puts on a show and improvises a choreography with the inhabitants. A magical moment that the former Lido dancer will not soon forget.

Jacques who laughs, Cassandra who cries

When he arrived in the Philippines, Jacques clearly didn't see himself going that far against experienced adventurers like Ugo and Frédéric. But over the course of the episodes, the dancer revealed himself to himself and to his comrades. Tuesday evening, he won the immunity test on “the stars”, a classic of the show. The rule? Balancing between two wooden planks, candidates must hold on to small supports for as long as possible.

After the fall of all their adversaries, Jacques triumphs against Cassandra, who offered him great resistance.” During the ordeal, I spoke with my grandpa who is in heaven“, confides the dancer to Denis Brogniart. “I had cramps in my butt“, he adds, more down to earth, “but the mind took over“. For the novelist, on the other hand, it is a real blow. This is in fact the third time that she has finished second in an immunity test. And this one was undoubtedly crucial.

The council's verdict

In the minority against the ex-yellows, Ugo, Cassandre and Cécile are in the hot seat. Especially since on the other hand, Ilyesse has the black vote given by Gustin at the end of the previous episode. The yellows are actually hesitating between Ugo and Cassandre. Jacques believes that it is necessary to play strategically and eliminate the double winner of the show. But Thibault points out that Cassandre was brilliant during the immunity test and that she would surely be formidable on the posts.

Aware that her two comrades are in danger, Cécile agrees with them not to disperse and vote for Ilyesse. Ugo has an immunity necklace that could save him in the event of a tie. Upon arrival at the council, the suspense is at its height. Unsurprisingly for us, Ugo plays his necklace. And he's right. With three votes each, he finds himself tied with Cassandre and Illyesse. A second vote takes place, this time without him since his collar protects him. And as one might expect, it is the young novelist who must go.

Next week, the last seven candidates will compete for the five places in the orienteering final, a prelude to the legendary poles. One of them will leave during an eliminatory test, the second following the vote of the council. And after having played his two necklaces, Ugo has every interest in winning the last immunity of the season if he wants to register his name for the third time on the program's honors list. That would be unheard of.
