The Les Pionniers team from du Rocher high school will also be present in the Maxi and IGA grocery stores in the Grand-Mère sector to collect donations that day.

For donors from different communities, it will be possible to deposit a contribution in money or food at the different headquarters, between noon and 8 p.m. Each registered contribution entitles you to a draw ticket for the painting offered by painter Lynn Garceau.

The drop-off locations are the basement of the Saint-Paul church (Grand-Mère), the Patrice-L’Heureux community center (Shawinigan), the Chanoine-Langevin community hall (Sainte-Flore), the basement of the Saint-Georges church, the sacristy office of the Saint-Thophile church (Lac-à-la-Tortue), the Grandes-Piles community hall and the Optimist House of Saint-Jean-des-Piles.

Several companies in these sectors are also helping to offer collaborations for this collection. For example, the general convenience store Le Colibri sells $2 lights for the tree that will be lit on December 16, in the presence of Santa Claus. Crèmerie de Flore donates $2 to Noël des nous for each iced log sold before November 30.

Generosity in progress

Furthermore, the spaghetti dinner on November 6 raised $4,085 thanks to the participation of three restaurants in the Sainte-Flore sector. The ongoing online campaign has raised $2,012 so far. Always united, the Knights of Columbus of Grand-Mèere council 1209 made a donation of $3,700 for our Christmas.

“To ensure the success of the 56th edition, we need more than ever the generosity of the entire population, particularly in these difficult economic times. All community initiatives are welcome,” indicated the organizers when announcing the details of these special activities.
