– The price of a liter of diesel has increased by a few cents in one week.

In recent weeks, you were quite relieved to go to the pump to fill up your gas tank. A liter of diesel cost you on average 1.58 euros and that of unleaded 95-E10 no more than 1.68 euros, according to the prices displayed on the totems near service stations in mid-September in . The situation changed two months later. For good reason, the latest statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, published this Tuesday, November 12, shows rising prices for diesel last week, i.e. 1.9 euro cents more compared to the week before. (from October 28 to November 3). So, the liter of diesel sold for around 1.6193 eurosagainst 1.6008 euros. This is the second week of increase in a row, the best-selling fuel in France having previously been displayed at 1.5977 euros (from October 21 to 27).

These prices still remain well below the levels observed at the start of the year. Remember, you paid almost 1.80 euros per liter for your diesel last February. Since this period, a gradual decline has begun, particularly this summer, when the budget was only around 1.60 euros. And nothing suggested an increase, while the price of oil also continued to fall at the same time. Except that the price of crude oil ended up rising again, with a barrel of North Sea brent coming in at $75.6, or $2.6 more than last week.

Hopefully this increase is only temporary, but watch prices in the coming days and watch for apps to find the cheapest gas station near you. For example, on Carburants.org, you should know that it is possible to find brands that offer a liter of diesel well below the national average. Notably at the Total Access station at Berre L'étang in Bouches-du-Rhône (13), sold at 1.51 euros, or at Leclerc de la Rochelle in Vendée (17), distributed at 1.53 euros. According to data from this online comparator, diesel currently sells for 1.64 euros in France.

As for gasoline, nothing alarming yet. According to the weekly statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, a liter of unleaded 95-E10 cost you 1.7072 euros last week. A relatively stable price, certainly, at 0.1 or 0.2 euro cents more over the last two weeks. Still on Carburants.org, we note the cheapest liter at the Système U service station in Sainte-Geneviève in Oise (60), the price of which is displayed at 1.63 euros. The national average, according to its own data, currently reaches 1.75 euros.
