On October 14, 2022, France was shocked by a terrible news story: that of the murder of Lola. Aged 12, the young teenager was returning home after going to college. His parents lived in an apartment in the 19th arrondissement. On the way, Lola crossed paths with Dahbia Benkired, an Algerian woman who was subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). The body of young Lola was found in a trunk near the building of his parents. Dahbia Benkired, is indicted for murder of a minor under the age of 15 accompanied by torture or barbaric acts and for rape of a minor. She has been placed in pre-trial detention since October 17, 2022. Her trial will take place in 2025.
Lola's mother talks about the day of the tragedy
Two years after the death of her daughter, Delphine appeared on the show It starts today presented by Faustine Bollaert on France 2. It was then with great emotion that she remembered what happened during this terrible day.
“That day, we normally left in the evening for the mobile home we own, on the coast. I was packing my bags to leave in the evening and at lunchtime, I decided to take a little nap because we have a little break in between.”she declared at first.
Afterward, she said she felt guilty, because if she hadn't taken a nap, maybe things would have been different. “I tell myself that maybe I shouldn't have taken that nap because usually, I go out at that time when she comes home so I would definitely have bumped into her. I woke up with a start and not seeing her come back, I said to my husband: 'it's not normal, it's weird, it's not her habit not to warn'”she explained.
Lola would have died of asphyxiation
Seeing that her daughter was not coming home, Delphine felt that something was wrong and immediately expressed her concern to her husband, who died a year and a half after Lola's death.
“From the moment I didn't have any news, I said to myself it's not good, there was something. I felt it straight away, my mother's body was broken straight away “she continued.
She then referred to the autopsy report: “I felt a big stab at that moment. We really knew everything she had done to him and it hurt. She stopped breathing on her own.” According to the doctors' report, Lola died of asphyxia. “She didn’t suffer.”said his mother.

He then wanted to apologize to her: “I'm so sorry. Basically it's the other way around. A big brother's job is to protect his little sister, I didn't even manage to do that. I hope that You will forgive me one day.” Two moving testimonies which shocked everyone on the France 2 set.
