Last Sunday, Grenade Sports hosted the Catalan club Céret in Fages. A match which could have ended in a victory for the GS and with an additional try, an offensive bonus, but which in the end ended with a score of parity 27 to 27. In front of nearly 1300 people, the match started as for the GS and for Céret by a penalty each which went to find the post. Then it was Céret who, in the 6th minute, broke the deadlock and scored 3 points, which were followed by 5 more a quarter of an hour later thanks to an unconverted Plana try. A few minutes later, on a throw-in, Van Huffel for the GS will grab the ball and make, on his own, a nice penetration into the Catalan in-goal, between the posts, which Lucas Guiot will transform, followed by a penalty 4' later. Score at the break: 10-8 for the locals. Back from the locker room, coaches Vilaspasa and Busque will only wait a few minutes to change the entire first line, a 2nd and 3rd line, thus bringing freshness to the team. There, the Yellow and Blacks will offer a prosperous period to their supporters despite some blunders and mistakes but in any case, for a good twenty minutes, they will string together 2 beautiful tries: Graciet in the 51st transformed by Guiot, Guiot (59 '): score 22 to 8. It is permissible at this point in the game to think that an additional try would bring not only victory but also the offensive bonus… But there, the black hole! Our Yellows and Blacks are seized and plunged into another dimension and suffer. Céret on a counter manages to score a try in the 65th (Moro) transformed by Hacini and comes back to 22-15, repeats 2 minutes later with Payrouet. Hacini transforms: score 22 to 22 and in the 71st a third try from Hostalrich not converted and brings the score to 22-27. A reversal of the situation which will leave the supporters speechless! It was necessary to wait until the last minutes of the game for a great action between Bauza and Fabre to allow the latter to come back to stick to the score with a try. The public holds its breath for Guiot's strike, not a sound in the stadium, but the shot does not materialize and the score will be 27 to 27 at the final whistle. In summary, we can say that the Yellows and Blacks played alternately, offering a good start to the second half. However, looking at the results of the weekend, Grenade Sports is not doing too badly, occupying a 6th place tied with Isle Jourdain.
