The Minister of Culture had a tense exchange Tuesday with two journalists from France Inter who questioned her in the studio, accusing them of not listening to her and of living in the “comfort”. Rachida Dati, whose ministry oversees Radio France, was invited to Nicolas Demorand’s morning show, where she answered questions from political journalist Yaël Goosz.

While criticizing the programs of the New Popular Front and the National Rally, she interrupted to say: “I know you’re not listening to me now.”

“Yes Yes. We are preparing the next question, that’s normal”supported the journalist. “So you don’t listen to the answer”retorted the minister. “It’s neither-nor”then estimated his interlocutor, to underline the fact that the mayor of the 7th arrondissement put the left and the far right on the same level.

“No, you sum it up! Stop Mr. Goosz, it’s comfort! You are comfort… Go tell that to the technicians of your radio, and to the secretaries, and all the people I greet every day, every time”launched Rachida Dati.

“Which report?”the journalist asked.

“When they are privatized, go and tell them in your little comfort: then it’s neither-nor. What are you waiting for, the right sentence? Me, I’m on the bottom. I defend my country, I defend its values. I defend the country that allowed me to be in front of you today”concluded the minister.
