Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke
At that time,
Jesus said to his disciples:
“It is inevitable that scandals will arise,
opportunities to fall;
but unfortunate is he by whom this happens!
It is better that a stone millstone be tied to his neck
and they throw him into the sea,
rather than being an occasion for falling
for just one of these little ones.
Take care of yourselves!
If your brother has committed a sin,
reproach him sharply,
and if he repents, forgive him.
Even if he sins against you seven times a day,
and may he come back to you seven times in a row
saying, “I repent,”
you will forgive him. »
The Apostles said to the Lord:
“Increase faith in us! »
The Lord replied:
“If you had faith,
as big as a mustard seed,
you would have said to the tree that this is:
“Uproot yourself and go and plant yourself in the sea”,
and he would have obeyed you. »

Meditation Father Sébastien Antoni
“Imagine that God’s love is a gentle light that invites everyone to feel loved and unique. However, sometimes our actions can become like an opaque wall that blocks this light. This wall is scandal. It can take many forms: hurtful words, unjust actions, endless judgments… All these walls can erect a fortress around the heart, preventing others from believing in the goodness and beauty of existence.
It’s a bit like putting out a fragile flame in someone. A flame that could have illuminated his entire life. And this wound leaves a deep mark. It’s a bit like graffiti on a white wall, an indelible mark that is difficult to erase.
But there is hope! Jesus reminds us that we have the power to build bridges rather than walls. By forgiving, we do not give a gift to the one who hurt us, but we ourselves free ourselves from the prison of resentment. It is by opening our hearts that we can help others find the light.”
