Due to a landslide in the Hautes-Pyrénées, rail traffic between Bayonne and Toulouse is severely impacted, the work is expected to last several days.
On the evening of Saturday November 9, a landslide damaged the railway track in the town of Lanespède, near Tournay, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. If the line is not buried, it is damaged over around thirty meters.
As a result, rail traffic has been greatly disrupted between Tarbes and Toulouse since then. This Monday, November 11, the last day of a long weekend, the work is not completed, no deadline has yet been announced by the SNCF. Be careful if you take the train today and in the coming days, make sure they are available on the SNCF website or application.
Departing from Tarbes this Monday morning, towards Toulouse, many trains are canceled, the first departure being at 12:56 p.m. Also in the opposite direction, with the first train departing from Saint-Gaudens, direction Bayonne, scheduled for around 4:30 p.m. The others are canceled or complete.
At the damaged portion, which represents a “colossal” project for the SNCF, traffic is adapted. The trains run on a single track, at a very slow speed (30 km/h), a real logistical headache.
