MONTREAL — A woman was found dead by officers of the City of Montreal Police Service late Sunday afternoon in the borough of Rosemont-La-Petite-patrie. His death is considered suspicious.

It was a little before 5:31 p.m. that 911 received an unspecified call made from a home located on avenue Bourbonnière, near avenue Laurier, in the borough of Rosemont-La-Petite-patrie, says Caroline Chèvrefils, public relations officer for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).

Upon arriving at the scene, the police located an unconscious woman on the ground and pronounced her dead on the spot.

The SPVM specifies that the identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are currently unknown. However, the police indicate that there were traces of violence on the victim’s body.

A man was also present in the accommodation, specifies Ms. Chèvrefils. He is considered to be an important witness and was transported to an investigation center where he will be met by investigators to determine whether or not he was involved in this event.

A perimeter was erected to protect the scene for investigators as well as for forensic identification technicians who must all analyze the scene in order to try to understand the exact circumstances of this death. The investigation is continuing.
