The firefighters were alerted shortly after 3 p.m., Sunday June 16, 2024: a fire broke out in an apartment on the ground floor of a building on rue de Venise, in the Europe district, in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor). The accommodation was destroyed. It was unoccupied at the time, no one was injured.
Evacuees were unable to return to their homes
The firefighter intervention ended around 5 p.m. The people present on the three upper floors of the building, who had been evacuated, were able to return to their homes. Tests for the presence of carbon monoxide were negative.
The technical and scientific police, a unit of the national police, carried out the first observations. Stéphane Favrais, deputy mayor, was on site.
