WAR IN UKRAINE – Call to the summit. Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday and asked him not to provoke an escalation in Ukraine, the American daily reported this Sunday, November 10 Washington Post.
This would be the first telephone conversation between the two men since Donald Trump won the US presidential election last Tuesday against Democrat Kamala Harris.
They discussed the goal of peace on the European continent and Donald Trump said he hoped to have follow-up conversations to discuss “resolution of the war in Ukraine soon”according to anonymous sources from the American daily.
Questioned by AFP, Donald Trump's entourage did not confirm this information.
Biden and Trump at the White House on Wednesday
Foreign policy issues will be on the menu of the meeting between Joe Biden and Donald Trump scheduled in the Oval Office on Wednesday to begin the transfer of power.
The Republican, who will return to the White House on January 20, has regularly claimed to be able to end the war “in one day”without ever detailing how he would go about it. But this could probably involve a deal that would require kyiv to cede part of its territory to Moscow.
This land issue would also have been raised during the meeting between the two heads of state, according to the same sources.
Russia praises 'positive signals' sent by Trump

Donald Trump also spoke with Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday. An exchange in which billionaire Elon Musk participated and qualified « d’excellent » pat the Ukrainian president.
