Four businesses destroyed by fire

Four businesses housed in the same building on rue Bernard-Pilon in Beloeil were destroyed by flames last night. According to our sources, the fire is believed to be criminal in nature.
Firefighters were reportedly notified of the fire around 3:30 a.m. According to some witnesses, neighboring buildings had to be evacuated.
Among the completely destroyed businesses were the PawLux grooming salon and the comic book and tabletop card game store, Univers Fantastique.
Built in 1976, the building was valued at $414,000 on the 2022-2025 property assessment roll of the City of Beloeil. The owner is the Beloeil property management company.
Ironically, the police department had just celebrated Crime Prevention Week from November 3 to 9.
No statement or comment was made by the Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu-Saint-Laurent at the time of going to press. More details to come.
