A slayer of small and large money deals in Cash Investigation, Elise Lucet earns a more than comfortable salary on France 2…
Cash investigation returns every year, like autumn, on France 2. For several weeks now, Elise Lucet has been back as an outstanding investigator and slayer of small and large money matters in the public service. An issue, entitled “Who benefits from immigration?”, has been scheduled for Thursday November 14, 2024 and will investigate immigrant labor, coming to work in certain essential sectors of the economy. Could they tour without them? Cash investigation also promises revelations on the insurance giants who invest in the homes of asylum seekers and on the cost of expulsion operations of illegal aliens.
Cash Investigation continues to shake the business world by revealing to the general public the secrets and excesses of large companies or public and political figures. A show that is often controversial, particularly for its methods and its penchant for clashes. Latest example: the issue entitled “McKinsey, a firm at the heart of power”, broadcast on September 17 on France 2, for which Elise Lucet and her teams burst into a public event to harass former minister Jean-Michel Plenty of questions.
The success of the formula remains indisputable, since Cash investigation achieves very good audiences for France 2 with each issue, with between 1.5 and 2 million viewers. Something to pamper the most pugnacious journalist in France? While transparency on money seems to be one of her priorities, Elise Lucet ultimately says little about her emoluments. The latest information on his salary – substantial – dates back several years already. At the beginning of 2018, Télé Star magazine revealed a sum of around 25,000 euros per month to present the shows. Cash Investigation et Special Envoy.
After several months of silence on the subject, Elise Lucet had half-heartedly confirmed the information to Marie Claire magazine. “My so-called salary? It depends on the month. But yes, it revolves around that,” she conceded, while specifying that criticism of her style and lifestyle affected her little. “This story occupied my mind for forty-eight hours, and then that’s it. It’s part of the job.”
Elise Lucet has certainly seen her salary increase, even if only given inflation since 2018. Between 1.5 and 2% until 2021 (apart from a drop in 2020 to 0.5%), this rose to 5.2 in 2022 and 4.9% in 2023 thanks to the end of Covid and the war in Ukraine in particular. In 2024, the increase is expected to return to around 2% forecast.
