The Paris police chief, Laurent Nuñez, was present on the BFMTV set to discuss the meeting between France and Israel, on November 14, at the Stade de France.
Just four days before the meeting, the Police Prefect, Laurent Nuñez, wanted to reassure the spectators.
Indeed, on November 14, the French Football team will host the Israeli football team at the Stade de France. A meeting “high risk”, particularly because of the war in the Middle East, but also because of the events in Amsterdam where Israeli supporters were attacked.
At the microphone of BFMTV, Laurent Nuñez ensures that we “will tolerate no overflow” and that even if it is a match to “high risk”, and “extremely reinforced device” will be put in place so that the meeting takes place normally.
To achieve this, he explains that he is in contact with the Israeli embassy in Paris and with Israeli police services. “who will be present in extremely limited numbers” et “that the security of the match and the Israeli team falls under French authority.”
4,000 police officers present “to secure the stadium”
To our colleagues, the Police Prefect underlines that there will be double control, with a security perimeter around the stadium where 4,000 police officers will be present and “1,600 security agents hired by the French Football Federation”.
Spectators will also be searched and patted down before being able to enter the sports venue.
