The pre-match
He's finally back! After more than a thousand days of waiting, the derby between OL and ASSE returns this Sunday for the 11th day of Ligue 1. The meeting has been marked since last Thursday by supporters of both camps, but only those from the Lyon clan will have the chance to experience this regional duel. Because of a prefectural then ministerial decision, Saint-Etienne supporters were banned from traveling and were content to push the Greens during training open to the public on Saturday morning. The OL Park will still be full at kick-off, with almost certainly the season's record attendance at Décines. Nearly 58,000 spectators are expected for the reunion between OL and ASSE. If the excitement is logically present, there is still a match to play and three points to collect.
They would not be too much for Pierre Sage's men who have been stalling a bit lately with four games without a victory. One success in the derby and almost everything will be forgotten. For this meeting, the Lyon coach could count on a full squad with the returns from injuries of Mahamadou Diawara and Ernest Nuamah. Only the Ghanaian was selected for the derby and replaces Saïd Benrahmaleft out of the group. Gift Orban and Sael On the bed will also watch this derby from the stands.
What time is OL – ASSE played?
What other slot than that of Sunday evening for the biggest derby in France? Unsurprisingly, the prime time poster for the 11th day of Ligue 1 returns to OL and “Sainté” with a kick-off given at 8:45 p.m. by Willy Delajod in an OL Park which will therefore be packed. This is only the second time that the referee will be on the whistle for an OL match at Décines.
