Juventus made no mistake in the Derby della Mole, or city derby, against Torino on Saturday night. A goal at the start and end of the match allowed the Old Lady to win 2-0. This victory narrows the gap with leader Naples.
Mbangula on the bench
For the home team, Samuel Mbangula started on the substitutes’ bench and did not leave the bench for the entire match. Juve were the better home team and deservedly took the lead after 20 minutes.
Timothy Weah, son of former world star George Weah, opened the scoring. Juventus continued to press during the first half, but were unable to double their lead.
One point from Naples
In the second half, the local supporters had to wait a long time to achieve the liberating 2-0: Kenan Yildiz doubled the lead at the end of the match. Juventus’ victory allows them to come back to within one point of leader Naples. However, the Neapolitans played one game less. Its rival, Internazionale, has as many points as Juve, but has also played one game less.
