Around fifteen children were confined in the Saint-Loup municipal nursery on Thursday, November 7, early in the morning in Marseille. The reason: eight wandering wild boars.
Very special guests welcomed parents, children and staff from the Saint-Loup municipal crèche, in the 10th arrondissement of Marseille, this Thursday, November 7. Around 8:30 a.m., eight wild boars forced a fence and entered the courtyard of the establishment, reports Provence.
Around ten adults and around fifteen children had to be confined in the premises during the intervention of the City services and firefighters. No one was injured and the mammals were pushed outside. After repairing the fence, the children were able to be welcomed again. The surrounding area must be made more secure in the coming days.
On France Bleu Provence, Nadia, mother of a little boy sheltered, says: “He told me that there were wild boars and he told me that he saw the firefighters. So , for him, it was neither shocking nor traumatic. There was no drama, the children were safe. The nursery staff reacted very well. They did not confine the children. Bring the parents in.”
Wild boars frequently cause panic in Marseille, where it is now forbidden to feed these animals, under penalty of a fine of 135 euros. The residents of a residence located not far from the nursery regularly receive nocturnal visits. Everyone fears the aggressiveness of these animals, particularly in the presence of babies, but also the material damage that can be caused.
