In which country will the largest building in the world soon be built?

We talk about it regularly, but if there is one country that is banking heavily on tourism for the years and decades to come, it is Saudi Arabia. Billions to invest to compensate for this oil revenue which one day perhaps could dry up. Hence these tourist projects of all kinds which have been flourishing there for some time, with the ultimate objective of welcoming 100 million national or international visitors per year from 2030.

And among everything that is being built or will be built, the Mukaab which will be the largest building in the world..

To make an impression…

It will be a huge cubic skyscraper measuring 400 meters on each side in the heart of the new city center called New Murabba planned for Riyadh, the country’s capital. A project for a a host of commercial, cultural and tourist attractions, as well as residential and hotel units, commercial spaces and leisure facilities” as declared by the authorities in charge of it. And to make the building even more memorable, there will even be a “mega-holographic experience” with projection onto a giant dome of futuristic images or those relating to nature and the seabed of our planet.

All this for quite a bit of money spent and work normally completed by the end of the decade for the 2030 World Expo which is to be held in the Saudi capital.

But this project is of course not the only one. Among others in progress or already carried out in the country, we will also mention Sindallah, on the Red Sea, which is this island transformed into a luxury hotel for yacht owners which has just opened and which foreshadows what will be the futuristic megacity of Neom, one of the Kingdom’s spearheads in terms of tourism for years to come, with its phosphorescent beaches, flying trains and even a false moon. Just that…

More sober (on a country scale), Leyja which is a high-end hotel complex located in the center of a gorge in the desert, or Trojena, the XXL ski resort which will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.

And then Saudi Arabia is also banking on other mega-projects such as Boulevard World, an area offering diverse and immersive attractions during the Riyadh Season festival. Or Al Qiddiya, the largest entertainment and tourism city in the world, located near Riyadh, made up of sports, cultural and entertainment facilities, a safari park, shopping centers, restaurants and hotels.

In short, everything you need to attract all types of tourists, each with their own interests, and meet their expectations…
