Organizer of the Ballon d'Or, revealed this Saturday the details of the points for the ranking of the 2024 edition. The winner Rodri scored 1170 points, or 41 units ahead of his runner-up Vinicius.

Around ten days after the Ballon d'Or was awarded, France Football revealed the number of points scored by the 30 finalists. Crowned on October 28, Spanish midfielder Rodri won with 41 points ahead of Brazilian striker Vinicius, a very small gap given the voting methods for this trophy.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or was awarded by a panel of journalists, with a representative for the top 100 countries in the Fifa rankings. Each voter was asked to give ten names, with 15 points for first in their ranking, 12 points for second and eight points for third.

Vinicius arguably shared points with Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal, his Real Madrid teammates, who finished third and fourth respectively, with 917 and 550 points. Kylian Mbappé, who arrived at the Madrid club last summer but was judged for his season at PSG, finished sixth with 420 points.

Two players did not obtain a single point: Artem Dovbik and Mats Hummels. William Saliba, the other Frenchman in the ranking, took 24th place with eight units. Concerning Vitinha, the only player in Ligue 1 with Mbappé, the Portuguese finished 27th with five points.
