UA 25-year-old young man of Singaporean origin and studying in Belgium died Thursday in hospital after being seriously injured by a stab wound to the abdomen in rue Saint-Pierre in Brussels. Two suspects, aged 18, were quickly arrested.

The Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone was called during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, around 2:30 a.m., for a man injured with a knife in rue Saint-Pierre in Brussels. The officers dispatched to the scene provided first aid to the victim until the arrival of the emergency services and the SMUR. The young man was then transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A judicial exclusion perimeter was set up in order to safeguard the traces. The duty magistrate from the Brussels public prosecutor’s office and an investigating judge went to the scene on Thursday morning. A forensic doctor and the technical and scientific laboratory of the federal judicial police were requested.

According to the public prosecutor, the first elements of the investigation indicate that the victim was approached by two individuals. A discussion began then the victim was stabbed. The suspects were quickly identified and arrested. They are two men aged 18.
