THE ROLL AGAINST THE MANAGEMENT OF THE GREEN/LFI WINS THE ENTIRE CITY

Posted On 8 novembre 2024

While the metropolitan council meets today at 10 a.m., and a demonstration is planned to welcome elected officials, anger is rising in and the revolt against municipal and metropolitan policies now seems to affect all areas of the city, in all neighborhoods.

ABBAYE-JOUHAUX: “THE MUSEUM OF HORRORS”…

In the Abbaye-Jouhaux district, the indignation of the inhabitants took the form of a “museum of horrors” organized by a collective of tenants from ACTIS (Dauphiné Libéré, 07/11/24). Exhibited in front of the CCAS in Grenoble, the shocking photos of cockroaches swarming around the sewers, mountains of rubbish, and rat holes highlight the untenable unsanitary conditions of the neighborhood. One of the residents even found cockroaches in his coffee maker… Everyone is asking for only one simple thing: that the bare minimum be done in terms of cleanliness.

…AFTER THE “COCKROACH CONTEST”

A few weeks ago, they had already organized a “cockroach competition” in front of the ACTIS premises to point out the inability of the lessor, chaired by the elected Green Pierre Bejjaji, to ensure the disinsection of the affected buildings. This time, the residents were entitled to a meeting with the health deputy Pierre-André Juven (Greens) and the sector deputy Isabelle Peters (PCF). Juven warmly welcomes this to Dauphiné Libéré, indicating that this will allow “to move forward on an action plan“and believes that he can”launch actions“…but not before 2025. What progress!

THEY FALL OVER THE SIMPLEST PROBLEMS

To do this, he believes that it is necessary “coordinate a health policy that includes City services, external partners such as the Metropolis, the social landlord and residents“. It is by this type of outing that we measure the full arrogance of the individual: the Greens are at the head of the city, control the metropolis, and have chaired the donor ACTIS for 10 years. They do not have to coordinate only with themselves and are incapable of doing so. In reality, they only know how to add complexity to the simplest problems (with duplicate services, a fragmentation of skills) and subsequently reveal themselves. unable to resolve them.

In September, the president of the civil society group Alain Carignon listed the problems of the Abbaye-Jouhaux district to the municipal council after several field visits at the invitation of residents.

WRAPPING OFFICIALS ON STRIKE

Still on the cleanliness/waste theme,he management of waste disposal centers in the Grenoble metropolis is making headlines again. To denounce their working conditions and the lack of reinforcements, the agents are increasing the number of strikes, with notice once again filed for the “maxi” recycling centers. A situation which weighs on users and which testifies to the discomfort of agents, but elected officials refuse to see it: while the situation has been known since at least this spring, Lionel Coiffard (Greens), vice-president of the metropolis in charge of waste, provided no response to the anger of the employees and explains that it is “under study“, no hurry for two cents.

NO TRANSPORT FOR TWO DAYS…

We find the same disdainful treatment as for tram drivers, bus drivers and controllers. This week they did not travel for two days following one of their number being threatened by an individual with a handgun, which led to the triggering of their right of withdrawal and the complete paralysis of transport. The climate of insecurity in French Chicago has very concrete consequences on the daily life of Grenoble residents.

Already in 2022, drivers were warning. Nothing has improved since then. On the contrary.

… BUT JP TROVERO (PCF) DOES NOT SEE THE INCIVILITIES, ATTACKS AND AGGRESSIONS

While a strike is now planned for December to express their fed up, the management of MTAG, chaired by the communist allied with the Greens/FLI Jean-Paul Trovero, is contesting the legitimacy of the agents to exercise their right of withdrawal! Nothing surprising from someone who was still trumpeting a few months ago about security that “Grenoble and its surrounding area are not Chicago! We are in something that is not worrying.” He is also not concerned by the incivility, attacks and attacks which reach 1300 cases per (le Dauphiné, 06/11/24). An exemplary employer of humanism and consideration.

THE PARKING WAR

Another theater of rebellion: that of residents and traders exasperated by the city's closure policy and the elimination of parking. A mobilization is planned this morning at 8 a.m. in front of the metropolis, just before the council, to demonstrate fed up. While since September the mobilizations for Avenue Jeanne d'Arc have punctuated the news, this time they are joined by their counterparts from all the neighborhoods: Place de , Avenue de Vizille, St-Bruno, Notre-Dame neighborhoods. Dame, Place Valentin Hauy, places Sainte Claire, Notre Dame…

Meet at 8 a.m. in front of the metropolis headquarters (place André Malraux – Rue Hoche).

AN IMPRESSIVE CITIZEN AWAKENING

We are witnessing the beginnings of a citizen awakening which seems to concern all neighborhoods, all subjects. The divorce is consummated after 10 years of a Greens/LFI majority which aggravated tensions through its imposed dogmatic policies and proved incapable of providing answers to everyday problems. The incantations of elected officials which are followed by no effect only aggravate anger and resentment. The multiplication of demonstrations, strikes and mobilizations is a strong signal of this.

THE METROPOLIS ON THE EDGE OF EXPLOSION?

In addition to the citizen rebellion at its doors, the metropolitan majority is on the verge of explosion within itself. After the outings from the Piolle camp on Monday, which were of rare violence for their metropolitan colleagues, the subject of relations between Grenoble and the metropolis should be on the agenda today. Today’s Dauphiné Libéré asks: “the decision will strongly animate the metropolitan council this Friday. To the point of blowing up the majority?“.

ALL LIGHTS ARE GREEN FOR CHANGE

16 months before the municipal elections, everything seems to be accelerating. The ambient climate, increasingly heavy for the Piolle team which is now taking on water from all sides, including in the legal field, has never looked so much like the end of its reign. In the opinion of all observers, we are very far from the pre-2020 municipal atmosphere which favored the Greens/LFI much more. The lights are green for change if the mobilization of citizens continues, in parallel with the work provided by Alain Carignon's opposition group on the ground and in municipal and metropolitan council.
