The selection is carried out in several stages: three refined lists are established in September, October and November by cultural mediators, before the final selection. On November 15, the five winning books are announced, and the Grand Prize is awarded during the Resistant Book Fair in December in Paris.
The jury, made up of mediators from the HLMN-IdF, members of the ONaCVG and the association of Friends of the Resistance Foundation, is expanded to include recognized personalities, such as historians, critical journalists, as well as Guy Birenbaum, publisher and honorary president, who presents a “surprise report” before the final announcement of the Grand Prix.
