Despite a double course in Spanish/Communication, I decided to take control of my dreams by heading into journalism. With a master's degree in sports journalism, I cover sports and football news with as much admiration for transfer periods, when a club must make crucial choices for next season.
As President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi recently reaffirmed, PSG leaders want to leave the Parc des Princes in order to build a much larger stadium in the suburbs. But this Thursday, the deputy for sport at Paris town hall Pierre Rabadan affirmed that a dialogue was still possible between the different parties in order to find a better solution.
Installed at Princes Park since the dawn of time, the PSG could, within a few years, benefit from a brand new stadium. While the Parisian club has been negotiating for several years with the town hall of Paris concerning the repurchase of the den of the 16th arrondissement, in particular in order to be able to enlarge it in vain, the president Nasser Al-Khelafi reaffirmed last week its intention to eventually leave the Princes Park.
“We need our stadium”
“We need it, otherwise we’re dead.” I really like the Parc des Princes, everyone loves it. If I listen to my heart, we're not leaving. But today, everyone in Europe has stadiums with 100,000, 80,000, 90,000 seats… Is it a question of life or death? Yes. We are in France, but we also play in Europe. We compete in the Champions League every year. If we want to be at the same level as other clubs, and on financial fair play… We need our stadium. We have no other solutions”declared the president of PSG at the microphone of Rothen Ignites.
“There are other modes of operation than pure sales on which we could work with the club”
Deputy for sport at the town hall Paris, Pierre Rabadan spoke this Thursday, and affirmed that other solutions were possible: “Everyone, the city, its representatives, the supporters, the Parisians, everyone wants PSG to stay at the Park. There is a possibility of an expansion project. We know it, we know it. There are other modes of operation than pure sales on which we could work with the club. We still need to resume an exchange, which is not yet the case despite our calls for many months”said the latter at the microphone of RMC.
