The information was revealed by the daily The Worldthis Wednesday, November 6, and confirmed at Corse-Matin by the public prosecutor of , Nicolas Septe. Jean-Noël Marcellesi, real estate developer and owner of the luxury Casadelmar hotel in Porto-Vecchio (South Corsica), filed a complaint on November 1 for attempted extortion by an organized gang, threats of death and violence. The prosecution opened an investigation entrusted to the judicial police.

The Ajaccio public prosecutor takes the denunciation of these facts “very seriously”

In his complaint, Jean-Noël Marcellesi says he received a visit from four men, in his real estate agency in Porto-Vecchio, the day before filing the complaint.

According to him, a tough discussion was initiated to demand payment of 500,000 euros from him in the form of racketeering. The World evokes the presence of witnesses attesting to this scene. “We take the denunciation of these facts very seriously”declared Nicolas Septe to the evening daily.

The World also reveals statements made during the hearing of the complainant before investigators. He would have confided to the police that his visitors alluded to the attack on one of his sons, on January 17, 2023, when asking him to account.

Always according to The Worlda confrontation between Jean-Noël Marcellesi and his son’s attacker, Antoine Bornea, was organized by investigators a week before the alleged extortion attempt. The latter, whose lawyer could not be reached by Corse-Matinis continuing in the investigation responsible in particular for determining the motive for a violent fight which broke out in a body shop in Porto-Vecchio, during which the son of Jean-Noël Marcellesi was very seriously injured. Placed under judicial supervision, Antoine Bornea cannot go to Corsica.

The men of the judicial police who are leading the investigations in the flagrant investigation opened seven days ago are working on the hypothesis of a link between these two cases.

Contacted by Corse-Matinthe plaintiff’s lawyer, Me Valérie Vincenti, did not wish to speak at this stage, “so as not to interfere with ongoing investigations”.
