Baldur’s Gate 3 today welcomes a brand new update particularly awaited by some players. Be careful though, it is not intended for everyone.
Time passes at breakneck speed. It’s already been over a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 was a real tidal wave. The 20 long years of hope paid off and Larian Studios achieved the impossible: surpassing all the community’s expectations. The phenomenon was unstoppable, with the CRPG winning almost all the honors at each ceremony. On the other hand, there is no question for the teams to confine themselves to what is expected of them. Baldur’s Gate 4 will pass into other hands, when the Belgian studio is working on two different games. Until then, part of the workforce is still dedicated to monitoring the game and a new, somewhat special update has arrived.
Baldur’s Gate 3 PS5 Pro patch available
There was no shortage of BG3 patches this year. Even a year later, the Belgians continue to perfect the CRPG experience and add new features. A few features are still missing, like photo mode, but the most requested ones are now integrated. Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3 is proof of this, with the implementation of mod support, which allows players all the madness both on PC and consoles. The new update deployed on November 7, 2024, however, is only reserved for certain people. With all the news of the day, it has probably not escaped your attention that the PS5 Pro is out. The games are gradually adorning themselves with their patch and it’s Baldur’s Gate 3’s turn to deploy its own.
This new patch therefore brings some changes to the Quality and Performance modes for those who fell for the PS5 Pro, and fixes some bugs related to multiplayer for everyone. Without further ado, here are all the improvements brought by this Baldur’s Gate 3 patch:
Improvements on PS5 Pro
- On PS5 Pro: Quality mode now runs in native 4K (2160p) at 30fps
- On PS5 Pro: Performance mode now goes from 1440p to 2160p with 60fps
- Split-screen mode on PS5 Pro will now offer either 30 or 60 fps depending on whether Quality or Performance mode is chosen
Problems and crashes
- Fixed an issue on PS5 that prevented you from downloading or following mods when joining a multiplayer game where mods were enabled.
