Crazy, unreal, historic. We lack qualifiers to describe what the Brestois achieve. Victorious on the pitch of Sparta Prague (2-1), the Ty-zefs leave with a third victory in four Champions League matches! Undefeated, and with a total of ten points out of twelve, the Brestois are in a very, very good position to qualify for the rest of the competition.
Ten points that make everyone happy
Dominant in the first period, the Brestois made it happen thanks to a superb goal from Edimilson Fernandes who, with a volley entering the area, pierced the defense and opened the scoring. Very little worried by the Czechs, the Ty-zefs even managed to double the lead, helped by an own goal from Kairinen.
The Czechs' late score reduction (90th+2) changed nothing. Halfway through, the Brestois therefore remain undefeated in the competition, for their first participation. And no, it's not a dream, the Brestois are fourth in the competition.
And these ten points could make everyone happy. Statistically, the Brestois could be satisfied with this to qualify for the rest of the competition, and hope, at worst, for the play-offs. Since the draw against the Germans from Leverkusen, the speeches have changed. Little thumb of the competition, the people of Brest now dare to talk about qualification. And as their captain Brendan Chardonnet pointed out after the match, they will go to Barcelona on November 26 “to win”.
