Artist Ruby Bute died yesterday

A great figure in Saint-Martin culture left us yesterday, Tuesday, November 5. It was his granddaughter Gerline Isaac who wrote a few lines on social networks to announce this sad news: “CIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruby Bute. A St. Martin icon, cultural ambassador, beloved soul, artist, poet and friend to many, Ruby touched countless lives with her warmth, creativity and spirit. His loss leaves a void that will never be filled, but his legacy and memories will live on in our hearts».

Since the announcement of his death, tributes have multiplied. Born on January 13, 1943, Ruby Bute died at the age of 81. Artist, painter and poet and teacher, she opened the Silk Cotton Grove Gallery in Friar's Bay in 2009.

The family asks “privacy» and to respect “this moment of mourning».

The entire Pelican team pays tribute to Rudy Bute. We will return to his journey and his commitment in our next editions.
