WHO PLAYS IN THE SERIES?

The main role of the series was given to Peter Claffey. Little known to the general public, this former rugby player turned actor will also be in the cast of the third season of Vikings: Valhalla.

The 27-year-old Irishman lends his features to Duncan the Great (nicknamed Dunk), a knight-errant since the death of his master, Ser Arlan of the Undertree. Despite his simple appearance, the latter shows great courage, and does not hesitate to put himself at the service of the oppressed.

Due to his immense size, Dunk manages to compensate for his shortcomings in the art of combat with extraordinary strength. He is accompanied in his adventures by a young squire, nicknamed the Egg due in particular to his completely bald head.

The latter will be played by Dexter Sol Ansell, an actor only around ten years old. Son of English singer Jonathan Ansell, the young budding actor notably lent his features to young Coriolanus Snow in the prequel to the Hunger Games saga: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird.

The Egg’s true identity is not revealed until the end of the first of three short stories, titled The knight errant. Mischievous and cheeky as a child of this age can sometimes be, he is also a loyal and faithful servant to Dunk.

Dexter Sol Ansell shaved his entire head and shared the video on social media:

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE SERIES

You can choose to know nothing, or on the contrary, know everything about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series is in fact the adaptation of a trilogy of short stories, grouped together in a work entitled The Chronicles of the Knight Errant.

Dunk’s exploits were repeatedly hinted at in the main series Game of Thrones, although Ser Duncan died a few decades before the plot began. Clues given by George RR Martin have also suggested that Dunk is a distant ancestor of the knight Brienne of Tarth.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will stand out from other Game of Thrones productions. For the first time, a series will not take place in the four corners of Westeros, but will focus on two characters who have no direct link to the Iron Throne.

In terms of format, this new prequel will be limited to only six episodes per season (compared to ten episodes for the other series).

IS A SEQUEL PLANNED?

Three seasons of six episodes each are planned in total. The series is inspired by the collection of short stories The Chronicles of the Knight Errant; each season will therefore focus on one of the stories written by George RR Martin. Please note, however, that to date, only one season has been officially ordered by HBO.
